Skype for Business

It is fascinating to see how many uses there are for Skype. Along with free conference calls, video chats, and instant messaging, you can actually buy an online number so anyone, anywhere, can contact you from a land line or cell phone. The prices are quite reasonable, at $18 for three months, or $60 for twelve. And when people who have the same area code as your number call you, they only pay the local rate, and you pay nothing. This service is available in twenty-five countries. My hope is that within the next four years, the online number will be available throughout the main regions of East Asia, thus making this service even more valuable to me as a businessman in Asia. It will be interesting to see where Skype and the online communications industry in general will go in the next few years!

Meeting and Power Point

We had our last meeting on Sunday night. We got all of our slides together and went over our presentation. All that is left is to present our slides to the class. We have learned a lot about Skype and how many business men and women use it. You can make conference calls, or just audio and video calls. The best part is that skype-to-skype calling is free! You can also purchase a number to call landlines and mobile phones. Skype is really reducing travel costs in the business world and making the world seem a little smaller.

Meeting

We had a group meeting today that went really well. We also checked out some good sources. The best one so far has been skype.com. There are also some good "how to" websites for Skype that teach you how to use all the features. They are helpful sources. We are working to put together our slides now, and will be ready to present soon.
